Season Calendar

Beginning its 36th season, The CHORALE presents its first concert December 9, 2017.

Music in the Air will be full of joyful, uplifting music of the season with familiar choral repertoire.

Special guests will be the Sycamore Brass, a quintet of brass instruments that will showcase their classic and toe-tapping selections to entertain the audience. You can listen to a clip of their rendition of Ain’t Misbehavin’ here.

The evening will end with a carol sing, accompanied by the brass and members of The CHORALE.

On May 5, 2018, the CHORALE’s annual Young Artist Scholarship Concert will feature Feel the Spirit, a collection of seven loved and well-known spirituals accompanied by a chamber orchestra and featuring the voice of mezzo soprano Sadie Elizabeth Cheslak.

Among others, The CHORALE will sing the inspired and exciting Unclouded Day and Only in Sleep by the talented young American composer, Craig Hella Johnson. Originally from Minnesota, he studied piano and sang in the St. Olaf Choir at St. Olaf College, graduating in 1984. He went on to study at Juilliard, the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, and Yale University, from which he received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree.

The audience will also be treated to a performance by the winner of the 2018 Young Artist scholarship.
